The boundaries of museum mediation. Audiences and Professionals

The International symposium focuses both on the relationships that can be found between museums and audiences and on the professional skills of museum guides. As the 21st century has museums fully open to society, landmarks of travels, and places to experience in our own cities it becomes crucial for every cultural institution to promote a fruitful dialogue between heritage and public. As a result of this, it is even more important to specify what skills and competencies are needed to facilitate such a delicate and complex relationship, in which different disciplines are introduced and multiple methodologies and purposes are involved.
Offering an overview of the boundaries and potentials of mediation and education in museums but also, and above all, about museum guides and professionals; the symposium is a chance for training and upgrade to museum managers, guides, experts and researchers.
